Church Three Times a Day

Growing up in Toronto's Junction in the 1930s, Lois Broad recalls a childhood centred on church — and the vibrant community that came with it.

When Lois Broad was growing up, the church was the centre of the community. She and her siblings went to church three times a day. And the church they went to had the largest Sunday school in the British Empire at that time — all because of a good gym and a clever Sunday school teacher. Lois was born in 1927.
