In the early 1970s, Maureen Chicorli was working at a concession stand at the Royal Winter Fair. Her boss Isabel showed her how to work the popcorn machine, and Maureen followed the instructions carefully, except for one crucial step. The result was popcorn everywhere.
Maureen never worked with Isabel again, but she was to meet her sometime later — when her boyfriend and future husband took her home to meet his parents, who lived at 460 Montrose Ave. Guess who was in the kitchen!
