A Field of Dreams—Behind the Runnymede Library

There's nothing like a vacant lot for kids to play in. Lois Broad remembers the fun her sons and all the neighbourhood kids used to have.

In 1962, Lois Broad moved with her family to a second-floor apartment at 31 Glendonwynne in Bloor West Village.

Right across the street was the ideal place for her boys and their neighbourhood friends to play. But then the local alderman and city had other ideas!

Lois, her husband, their five boys and a dog lived in the three-bedroom apartment above her father-in-law until 1977. Lois, who was born in 1927, has many stories to tell about the neighbourhoods where she lived. We thank her for sharing them.
